CAPTAIN: In most circumstances. proceed to nearest ferry dock and disembark all passengers. Follow appropriate procedures for fire or collision. Notify Harbor Patrol & USCG of nature of emergency that requires you to abandon ship. Direct passengers to wear lifevests. In extreme circumstances (fire out of control/immediate danger of sinking, with loss of propulsion) calm passengers and direct them to put on lifevests. Call Harbor Patrol and other ferry for assistance.**

In extreme circumstances (out of control fire or immediate danger of sinking) one or both of other ferry vessels could aid with evacuation of passengers. The Harbor Patrol and other vessels in area could also assist.
