In an emergency, its really important that our passengers remain calm and follow instructions. The chances of this are always best when WE remain calm. That is why its important to practice verbally instructing our passengers to get out and put on a lifejacket.

When a deckhand practices this speech, they should have an actual lifejacket and go through the motions they are instructing. We do not have an exact script, but the instructions should go along the lines of:

“Everyone please remain calm. there are life jackets located underneath the benches. Childrens lifejackets can be found here, here, and here.”
